COMPANY INFORMATION
Technicom, Inc. was incorporated in 1981 as a computer software programming
Company. The original intent of the Company was to write computerized trading
programs for Futures Traders, some of which are still in use today by
successful traders.
As a complement to the trading programs they had purchased from Technicom, many
customers requested an accounting program so that they could keep track of
profits/losses, trading margin, and as a means of verifying their Broker's
statements. In 1983 Technicom introduced their first Accounting program in
accordance with their customer's requirements, aptly named Account Manager.
Following the initial release a number of users requested additional features
to assist them with their record keeping and Technicom kept a "wish list" of
their requests, a practice Technicom continues to maintain today. These
features were incorporated into Account Manager which was then released as
Account Manager 1 in 1984.
As the popularity of Account Manager 1 increased so did the yearly wish list.
Every year Technicom brought out an updated version of the program with
additional features that included most of the items on the wish list suggested
by actual users. By 1985 Account Manager 2 had become so popular that it was
written up in the prestigious Forbes magazine.
The last DOS version of the program was Account Manager 11 in 1995. By
this time the wish list had become very small since practically every
suggestion from actual Account Manager users had been incorporated into the
program. In the same year that Account Manager 9 was released it became
apparent that the new Microsoft Windows would be the operating system of the
future and Technicom embarked on a project to write a version of the program
specifically for the Windows operating systems using the new powerful Access
relational database. This was Trade Depot.
As the project progressed it became evident that to take full advantage that the
Windows operating system offered to users and to build a firm base for future
versions, the program had to be completely rewritten, while at the same time
including all the features that users had come to expect.
The Company's current products are Trade Depot 1,
Trade Depot 2, and Trade Depot 3 using an
Access database, and our latest version, Trade Depot 4
using a SQL database for even greater storage and speed.
